A livestock Guardian is worth a weight in gold. We have partnered up with our Sister Farm Evermore Ranch in raising a blend that suits many farms. Our Livestock Guardians are a blend of the Komondor and Great Pyrenees Dog. The coat is more wavy and curly to that of a Komondor as the offspring of our pairing are F2s (second generation). The coat dreads and cords at times and grooming may be needed. Personality wise, the blend combines both traits of both livestock guardian breeds, bred to think for themselves and be highly intelligent.

The Komondor is a Hungarian breed of livestock guardian dog with a long white corded coat. They are also known as the Hungarian Sheepdog or “mops.” They are loyal guardian dogs and commonly employed to guard property or livestock.

The Great Pyrenees is an older French breed of livestock guardian dog that is quite popular. They are known to guard various livestock and protect them from predators. The coat is quite thick. Pyrenees are usually white but some do carry color, which is why some of our blends are shades of grey and black.

Our Livestock Guardian Pack consists of 4 employees at this time: Falkor, Ellie, Roxi, and Pongo. They watch over Ducks, Geese, Pigs, Goats, Emus, turkeys, peacocks, sheep, and chickens and cows. They also watch over their cat friends. With this said, the pack can be moved interchangeably throughout the farm with their multiple exposure. Training was done to ensure this would be possible. With any dog, regardless of age, training and boundaries must be set with their owner.

At times we do have puppies available. The puppies will be the Komondor Pyreneese blends and exposed to many animals, focusing on the ones they will work with at their new farm. Being diversified, we do have an advantage with the exposure and give the puppies a great first start. We work with the puppies until they are 12 weeks old if not older, in which they will go to their new farms to watch over. If interested in a current puppy or future, we do ask for you to fill out an application for consideration. All puppies come with a spay and neuter contract.
