Bourbon Red Turkeys

Bourbon Red Turkeys

The Bourbon Red Turkey is a stunning heritage bird, originated in the late 1800s and named for Bourbon County in Kentucky’s Bluegrass region. They are great for the for the breeder or exhibitor, or someone wanting an attractive turkey. They make great birds for the pasture system, being great foragers. Currently, Bourbon Reds are listed as Threatened according to the Livestock Conservancy. We enjoy this breed of turkey for their docile nature and their ability to produce well.
