Our Feeder and Heritage Pigs
6 Years Ago we added pigs to our homestead as a way to have our own meat. We got three little piglets to try out. The pigs were crosses of Duroc, Hampshire, and Yorkshire. We brought them home and grew them out. Since the male was castrated, we processed him when he was large enough. The Pork was amazing and the best meat we have every tasted. We decided to breed the females we had as a trial run. We purchased a Berkshire boar as a piglet and the breeding was a success when he was old enough. The litter was a success and our customers were really happy with the piglets they received from us. Since the trial run was a success, we continued the breedings and expanded our meat pig breeder group.
In addition to the Feeder Pigs, we have a separate pasture for our newest additions on the farm, registered Gloucestershire Old Spots. We will offer piglets from each group when in season. The prices vary each year therefore please stay tuned for piglet availability on this page or in posts.
We are offering meat shares from our pasture and wooded raised Pigs on Stellar Market We will be offering registered Gloucestershire Old Spot Piglets and Heritage Cross feeder pigs and hog shares going forward.
